Corfield’s Electrical was engaged to undertake a review of Graymont Quarry operations electrical specifications and develop an electrical design system that would support production and long term maintenance of the limestone quarry.
Graymont Quarry is situated 40 kilometres inland from Gladstone, Queensland, with operations focused on the production of high-calcium and dolomitic lime, value-added lime-based products such as hydrated lime and precipitated calcium carbonate, as well as pulverized limestone and construction stone.
Engaging our engineering and consultancy and industrial services, Corfield’s scope of work included the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical works to complete a full upgrade of the quarry from the main supply cabling to all cabling out in the field including conveyor systems, Lime Grinding Processing plant.
Working in line with the Graymont Environmental care vision, Corfield’s Electrical engineering and consultancy services worked with the company to relocate all controls into a substation, ensuring they supported Graymonts environmental pillars to limit air emissions, energy efficiency and waste reduction, while reducing the equipment exposure to dust and heat.
The project has also included the supply and installation of high bay lighting to suit task requirements, office area lighting and the facility’s general power requirements.
The undertaken work has supported Graymont in improved production and operations of the limestone quarry.
